DevOps Engineer

Hurren & Hope is proud to be working with a global organisation who are intent to tackle the 21st century challenges of pollution, congestion, and the fight for a greener, more sustainable future.

They are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support their partners and internal development team, working alongside a talented team of Software Engineers, Testers, Mobile Developers and Data Scientists to ensure the most efficient delivery possible.

This role is particularly suited to a mid level DevOps Engineer with a keen interest in Machine Learning – somebody seeking an opportunity to obtain commercial experience in an ML/AI environment.

The Company

Our client, a Smart Mobility focussed organisation has a location based platform utilising state of the art technology to leverage smartphone sensor data. Working with forward thinking transport companies, authorities and government bodies globally – they have grown to around 100 people with further exciting plans for growth and a start-up feel that inspires innovation, collaboration and ambition.

The Role

  • Working with all technical colleagues to ensure the most efficient working environment possible
  • Working with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform
  • Working with CI/CD pipelines
  • Working on a recent shift to Kubernetes / Amazon EKS
  • Setting the standard for best practices
  • Being at the heart of a DevOps culture shift

You will be setting the standard for best practices and will be working to ensure your colleagues follow these.

The Skillset

  • Tech: Kubernetes, AWS (in particular EKS)
  • Proven DevOps experience
  • Great communication skills – you will be dealing with partners

Not required, but would push your application to the top of the pile…

  • Any programming experience – Java, Python for e.g.
  • Terraform
  • Docker
  • SQL / NoSQL
  • Micro-services experience
  • An interest or experience in Data Science & Machine Learning

This role is completely remote, however you must be located in the UK and this role sadly does not offer sponsorship.  

The majority of the UK team are based in Circencester, Manchester, Brighton and Norwich – while it isn’t required to be located in or around these areas, it will certainly help in meeting your team for socials.
