Hurren & Hope are very pleased to announce we are now a member of the National Enterprise Advisor Network. We will be working as part of a national initiative that sees professionals from industry working closely with the education sector to help enhance employment opportunities for young people.
As a member of the talent community for nearly two decades, I have always felt there is not enough focus on engaging with the raw talent that sits within the younger members of our society. The opportunity to work closely with Kesgrave High School to lend our knowledge and expertise is a great way for us to offer real change to our local community.
Studies have highlighted the more encounters individuals have with the business community while in education the more likely they are to perform well in an interview and secure a role quickly. Youth unemployment within the UK across 16-24-year-olds is 3 x the national average yet I see a dearth of skilled candidates for the IT & Technology sectors on a daily basis. The Enterprise Network programme is designed to narrow the gap between the skills sort after by the business community and those being taught within secondary and higher education bodies.
We now form part of a national community of trusted professionals spanning the UK to include some of the world’s largest organisations. The key focus is reducing the younger members of our society finding themselves in the situation of being not in education, training or employment (NEET) recent research has found that offering 4 or more encounters between enterprise and a young person reduces their chances of being in the NEET demographic by 86%.
